The YIKÖ module represents the Ivorian power system plant by plant: 18 existing and 19 announced plants. Each year, it turns electricity sales into a load curve, decides on new builds, dispatches plants in order of cost, computes fuel use and emissions, then the cost of service and tariffs.
Tariffs feed back to demand, and the loop repeats until prices converge. The module reflects the realities of the Ivorian grid: domestic gas availability, take-or-pay contracts with independent producers, hydrology and unserved energy (load shedding).
