LAGUNE module

Long-term Analysis of Generation and Uses of National Energy

The LAGUNE module simulates, in annual steps from 2015 to 2050, the production, transformation and end uses of energy in Côte d’Ivoire. Demand is endogenous: it responds to energy prices, incomes and economic activity rather than being fixed in advance.

Demand from four sectors (residential, commercial and institutional, industry, transport) sets the energy quantities to be supplied. Supply (electricity through the YIKÖ module, oil and gas, refining, biofuels) returns energy prices, which in turn shape demand. Greenhouse gas emissions are tracked for the whole energy sector.
