The CACAO module is a recursive dynamic computable general equilibrium model, calibrated on Côte d’Ivoire’s 2021 social accounting matrix. It represents the whole economy: 23 industries, 27 products, 27 household groups, firms, government and the rest of the world.
It follows the circular flow of income and spending: industries pay labour and capital, this income goes to households, firms and government, and then funds consumption, investment and foreign trade. It computes GDP, output by industry, employment, household incomes and public finances, and it is coupled with the LAGUNE module.
